About Wyatt McCoy

Wyatt McCoy wasn’t born in a town with a zip code — he was born on the road.

Behind Wyatt is a real, longtime truck driver from Georgia who has spent years hauling freight, watching America pass through a windshield, meeting people from every walk of life, and collecting more stories than he could ever tell at once.

Wyatt McCoy is the character I created to tell some of those stories.

I choose to keep my own face private, so Wyatt is the face you see in the photographs, videos, and music. He is a fictional visual persona, but much of what inspires him comes straight from my life. The highways are real. The truck stops are real. The early mornings, long nights, cities, loads, roadside meals, good days, bad days, and countless miles are real.

Some of the stories are real. Some are inspired by things I have experienced or people I have known. And sometimes I simply use my imagination and tell a good story.

Wyatt also has a fictional world around him. His family, his fiancée Zoe, his dog Fonzie, and other recurring characters in his personal life are fictional characters created as part of the Wyatt McCoy story.

So why do I do all of this?

Because I love doing it.

This is my hobby and my creative outlet. I love writing a song and seeing someone say, “That happened to me.” I love telling a story that makes somebody laugh. And when someone tells me that something Wyatt posted brightened their day, that means more to me than they probably realize.

I also genuinely enjoy the people who have gathered around this page. I read the comments. I enjoy the conversations, the jokes, the stories people share with me, and seeing familiar names come back day after day. There is a real person on this side of the screen enjoying those moments right along with you.

The music comes from that same place. Love, loneliness, heartbreak, getting older, working for a living, chasing dreams, making mistakes, and remembering people and places that never quite leave you. Sometimes the details are mine. Sometimes they’re somebody else’s. Sometimes they’re imagined. But the feelings behind the songs are human.

There is no Nashville label or big production company behind Wyatt McCoy. It’s one truck driver who discovered something he loves doing and decided to see where it might lead.

Wyatt is fictional. The enjoyment I get from creating him, the music I make, and the connection I have with the people who follow along are very real.

That’s really all there is to it.

Thanks for being part of the ride.

Well, you made it this far… so I guess you deserve to know how Wyatt and Fonzie get ready for the day. 😂
